My 13 year old son and I attempted to have breakfast at The Globe again this morning... well he ate breakfast, I just sat at their impossibly small table trying to read the newspaper and attempting to drink their insufferable coffee. I should have known better, I have always found the Globe to be over priced and their coffee is hardly worth the space on their small tables (as I commented to the manager, I get better and cheaper food in the city and South Perth is somewhat "out in the bush"), but at least its near my son's school, so he can walk to school after his bacon and egg toasted sandwich.
The real success story this morning was, yet again, Il Circolo. Having wished I had simply made the kid breakfast, I ate nothing at The Globe and headed for civilisation in North Perth. Walking up to the counter, the waitress greeted me warmly and I gladly ordered eggs on toast for under $10. These are some of the best eggs on toast in town and affordable! Another great breakfast to start the day.

Breakfast at The Suite - Subiaco
Unusually, I was up early this morning and soon joined by fantastic company to "go for breakfast". Where to go? We started off and as we were heading north over the narrows bridge, a plan started to form in my mind... Subiaco. As we cruised down Hay Street and then up Rokeby Road, I considered The Witch's Cauldron. "Always a good breakfast on weekends" I commented to my friend, but kept driving. My friend noted that there was surprisingly not much available in Subi for breakfast on a Sunday. It was then that I remembered The Suite on Nicholson Road (just near the corner of Derby Road).
The buzz was apparent from the moment we walked through the door. People everywhere sitting on stools, chairs and lounge suites, obviously a popular choice for breakfast. It was so busy, the owner was working the floor. We were directed towards a small table, with even smaller stools (I felt like I was back in Kindy - in fact, probably more like high school, there was some 13 year old squeezed in behind me elbowing me in the back), there was no service (I think maybe they were short staffed), so I went to the counter to order our eggs benedict and coffees.
After very little time, we were served our coffees, which were just perfect and soon after our breakfast. The eggs were perfectly runny and and the bearnaise sauce was lemony - YUM.
Highly recommended for a change, but is not comfortable enough for an everyday breakfast.
